The Spiritan University College is a Catholic University founded by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, the Spiritans. Spiritan University College is devoted to helping students to seek practical wisdom and truth and develop a harmonious relationship between faith and reason. This is done through comprehensive quality liberal, professional, Catholic and Spiritan education in a serene and conducive environment.
Like any Catholic institution, the College has a student centred ethos of education and lays much emphasis on participatory and discovering methods that enable students to develop well integrated personalities.
Originally devoted to the training of religious, missionaries and social workers for the Church and the society at large, the College has opened its doors to the general public and trains civil leaders, business entrepreneurs to be good and productive citizens, and bring moral and social values and skills to bear on their social, business and political responsibilities.
As a Spiritan institution, we are committed to the poor and the marginalized in our society.
Beginning with education in the humanities, the College has the vision to venture into the training of personnel in business, education computer science and law.
ORIENTATION OF STUDENTS
All freshmen are required to participate in the orientation programme offered at the beginning of each academic year. It is an opportunity to meet the faculty, the Principal Officers etc. It is also an opportunity to receive information, ask questions, and be initiated into the ethos and life of the College.
The exercise enables the administration to formally welcome fresh students and help them through the process of adjusting and settling into life at the College
Additionally, it is an opportunity for fresh students to be abreast with the rules and regulations that govern the relationship between the students and the Students’ Representative Council.
It also enables students know their rights, privileges, obligations and responsibilities with regards to College authorities and their governing bodies.
A Matriculation Ceremony is held in the first semester for the purpose of admitting formally into the College all fresh students entering for the degree or diploma programme and who subsequently qualify to be awarded degrees and diplomats by the mentor University, (KNUST). This is organised at the instance of the mentor university, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Attendance at the ceremony is compulsory for all who qualify and no new student will be allowed to take any College examination unless he/she has been duly matriculated.
Each matriculated student will be required to sign the matriculation book and oath during the ceremony
